Harlequin Vessel Video Added to YouTube Channel

David named this piece Harlequin Vessel due to the pattern he created with gilding metal leaf and then applying mild acids to create a chemical patination. The piece is 11 inches tall and 4-3/4 inches in diameter. He turned the piece from curly blue gum eucalyptus. Then he gilded it with genuine silver leaf, copper leaf, and sodium sulfide to create the patinas. David sealed and finished the piece with 20 coats of solvent based acrylic lacquer and hand rubbed the vessel to 12,000 grit.
